ADHD Parenting Tip Sheet

While "stumbling" using the keyword "ADHD," I came across a wonderful resource that I feel compelled to share. Psychiatry 24x7 has compiled a tip sheet for parents of children with ADHD. It is wonderfully written and contains valuable information that I think could benefit us all. Below is an excerpt from the article:

The way you talk to, and with, your child has a direct impact on the way your child talks to you and his or her behavior. The more you can improve your relationship and communication, the more you help your child with ADHD grow into a healthy, responsible adult.

The topics covered include:

  • Control your emotions
  • Change the way you speak
  • Change the word 'no'
  • Adapt listening habits
  • Work together
  • Have fun!

You will also find a tip sheet for teachers and ADHD teens as well. I hope you'll take the time to review the tips and see how they can improve your relationship with your ADHD child.
